"Minty" - The death of an icon
There never was a truer claimant to the term "icon" than the Porsche 911 Turbo - and none more so than the 964 Turbo 3.6. This page is a testament and memorial to a very special car of the breed - the 1993 Motor Show car which announced to the World Porsche's next step in the path to true super car..

First registered on the 10th May 1993, it’s an ironic fact that this story is being written on Minty’s 16th Birthday. Remembered by many from the ’93 TV Show Top Gear, Tiff Needell introduced us all to Porsches latest ‘Supercar’ offering in the form of a 964 Mint Green 3.6 Turbo.  He commented, ….“if Porsche are to win back those true driving enthusiasts they need a serious car, to seriously impress”

I don’t think L22R Mint Green was ever going to be Tiff’s favourite colour, but that certainly didn’t detract from the obvious enjoyment he derived from testing Minty at Millbrook’s proving circuit in Bedford. You can see Tiff's video on the Turbo 3.6 page (here).
